Horse racing on the frozen lake of St. Moritz

On Sundays in February, the St. Moritz International Horse Races traditionally take place on the frozen Lake St. Moritz. The White Turf is known far beyond the country's borders and is a modern event. Organized in the tried and tested tradition since 1907, the White Turf always has a lot of spectacular things to offer. WHITE TURF is the fascination of the noble thoroughbred horses from all over Europe, which race with international jockeys in the colors of first-class racing stables over the flattest racecourse in the world. WHITE TURF is top-class sport with the most important race of the winter.

Hiking in winter

Of course, when everything in the Engadin is covered in deep snow, an even deeper and purer silence descends on our valley. You will notice this at the latest when you feel every step you take as a loud "crunching of snow": On up to 150 km of well-maintained winter hiking trails, walkers believe they have been transported into a fairy tale.

Cross-country skiing

In the St. Moritz valley, there is a network of cross-country ski trails with a total length of over 180 km. The area stretches from Maloja - Sils - Silvaplana via St. Moritz to Zuoz. There is also the area to Pontresina and up to the Bernina Pass.

Most of the trails are skating and classic technique. There are night trails in St. Moritz Bad and Pontresina. The racing trail from St. Moritz starts in St. Moritz Bad and then leads to Pontresina.

Ski marathon
Every year on the second Sunday in March, the Engadin Ski Marathon takes place in St. Moritz. This is a 42-kilometre marathon course from Maloja to Zuoz. Over 13,000 runners now take part in the fun run.

Olympic bobsleigh run

The Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz/Celerina is the only remaining natural ice bobsleigh run in the world. Not only is its construction made - exclusively - of snow and water, but its history is also unique. Numerous European and World Championships as well as 2 Olympic competitions have been decided on the bobsleigh run from St. Moritz to Celerina.

Over the years, the bobsleigh track has also been discovered as a venue for other sports. Every year, athletes from bobsleigh skeleton and luge compete on the track. The annual horn sled race and bob run skating are exclusive events.
